Heat is delivered inside cars from many different sources: solar radiation, high outside temperatures, reflection from the road, the engine and its emissions, the catalytic converter, the kind of material used to dress the interior, etc.

Air conditioning equipment reduces temperature and excessive humidity inside the car by forcibly extracting heat and introducing fresh, dehumidified air.

The main elements of air conditioning equipment are a compressor, heat exchangers (condensers and evaporator), an expansion valve and a dehydrator/accumulator filter. Air conditioners are also usually fitted with a cabin air filter to purify incoming air.

Compressors

This is the core of the system. It sucks in the refrigerant coming from the evaporator at a low temperature and at a low pressure, compresses it and puts it back into the circuit at high pressure and high temperature. Most of the performance of the system depends on proper operation of the compressor.

Condensers and Evaporator

These are two heat exchangers which transform the physical state of the refrigerant from liquid to gaseous (evaporator) and from gaseous to liquid (condenser) in order to set the refrigerating cycle. Its size and manufacturing technology establish its performance and affect proper operation of the system.

Dehydrator Filter

Its main function is to absorb the humidity which normally infiltrates into the system via the walls of the hoses and the pipe couplings, and which could cause faults in the system. Routine checks and replacement at pre-set intervals are essential in order not to affect the performance of the air conditioning unit.

Cabin Air Filter

This purifies the air before it is let inside the car, keeping out most of the particles in the atmosphere. Routine checks and replacement at pre-set intervals are essential in order not to affect proper air flow inside the car.

Spare Parts

We supply amongst other brands, The Delphi-Diavia range. The Delphi-Diavia spare parts have the same manufacturing features and performance as the original components, thus ensuring perfect interchangeability both in terms of assembly and specific thermodynamic performance.
