 The
heater radiator is the energy source used for heating the passenger compartment.
Although it is not directly connected to the air conditioning system, some heaters are different for those variants that are running climate control. They are situated in the same area as the evaporator. (see climate control) In general the difference consists of the size of the pipes and the angle they exit the core. Heater Radiator Replacement Bypass the heater radiator before flushing the cooling system out. Under no circumstances must the new heater radiator have any fluids flushed through it whatsoever. Once the new heater radiator has been fitted to the vehicle, there is a step by step procedure to follow, follow the guide below; Using a length of heater hose, bypass the the heater matrix. Drain off the cooling system, usually by removing the engine coolant drain plug at the back of the engine block. Disconnect as many water hoses as possible, removing any corrosive foreign matter that may of collected. Refit hoses on completion. Refill the cooling system with water and add a cooling system flush. Run the vehicle as specified by the cooling flush, eradicating any air locks in the system. Unscrew the expansion bottle top to release any pressure, then drain the cooling system off again. Using a hose pipe with fresh mains water, flush out the system again until clear water runs from the engine and radiator. Reconnect the heater pipes. Top up the coolant level with water, and bleed as necessary.
