Always ensure you know when the timing belt on your vehicle was last changed, if you have just purchased a second hand car our advice is to change the belt and tensioner's straight away If you don't change it and it fails, you could be looking at a very hefty garage bill. We stock the full range of ContiTech Timing Belts as well as a growing range of Timing Belt Tensioner Kits. We now stock the new Timing Belt Tension Gauge from ContiTech, the gauge makes it easy to correctly tension the belt on the vehicle. When changing a belt the correct tension is crucial, failure to tension the belt correctly could leave you with all sorts of serious problems. The measuring process is very straightforward - just attach the measuring head to the belt and simply set the gauge. The ContiTech tension gauge has both an optical and an acoustic indicator to let you know when the correct tension has been reached. The major benefit is that the acoustic signal indicates measuring progress, so you are able to work with confidence even if you cannot actually see the display. This is particularly important when fitting involves working deep down in the engine compartment. The universal gauge is therefore able to save considerable time, and workshop time.
